Must have required Commercial Driver’s license (CDL) Class B with Air-Brake endorsement and meet minimum DOT physical requirement to safely operate a motor vehicle.  Dump Truck Driver is responsible for the safe operation of a Tri-Axle Dump Truck. The job involves hauling materials from location to location from designated quarries, to and within a construction site, delivery to residential sites, loading and unloading materials. Material to include but not limited to Stone, Sand, Topsoil, Mulch, and Grain.

Dump Truck Drivers are required to observe standard safety practices when operating such large vehicles.  A dump truck driver must follow a schedule for pickups and deliveries of materials provided by his supervisor. He is required to verify the types of materials he is hauling as well as their weight. If he is working in conjunction with other equipment operators and truck drivers, he must clearly communicate with them to make sure he delivers his materials according to the job specifications and timetables. He is expected to keep his truck clean and in good working order, and notify his supervisor of any necessary repairs, issues or damages prior to the end of the work day.The Driver must maintain mileage records, maintain daily driver delivery reports, inspect dump truck daily for proper condition, safety and ensure it is in full working order.  Operate the dump truck in accordance with all company, state and Federal safety regulations. 

Driver must be able to climb in and out of trucks and must be able to bend to do pre-trip equipment inspections. Must be capable of inspecting equipment at any time to ensure safety and refuel truck as necessary.  Must have repetitive motion in hand-wrist, elbow-shoulder to continuously drive and change gears without creating a jerking motion of the truck.  May load/unload truck by hand or by operating mechanical loader.  Must operate the dump truck within legal speed limits and in accordance with all DOT regulation and specifications; all State regulations and specifications.  This is a strenuous position which requires the ability to sit, stand, bend, stoop, reach, climb, push, and pull in outdoor conditions.

Mandatory Requirements

  1. Tri-Axle dump truck driver must possess a valid state issued Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B with Air-Brake endorsement
  2. Must be at least 21 years of age
  3. Minimum of two years’ experience driving tri-axle dump truck
  4. Must be physically qualified to drive a motor vehicle in accordance with the medical qualification standards in Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations (FMCSR) Section 391.41, and provide a copy of USDOT Medical Card
  5. Prior to employment must provide driving record(s) from State(s) where driver was/is licensed for the past three years.
  6. Pre-employment driving test.
  7. Pre-employment drug screening
  8. Must be able to read and speak the English language well enough to converse with the general public
